The reverse image commemorates the victory of Domitian over the Germanic Chatti in 83 AD and the subsequent triumph in Rome, here symbolized by a mourning German woman equipped with the attributes characteristic of the northern tribes (tight-fitting trousers, hexagonal shield and lance).
