Marco Mantova Benavides was an Italian jurist and professor at the university of Padua. He also achieved fame as art collector and patron.
He served as consultant to popes and emperors (Charles V and Ferdinand I). On behalf of Frederick Augustus, Elector of Saxony, a statue was raised in Padua at the Prato della Valle to honour his life.
